Write down the existing console, controller, cables, and working configuration before changing anything. Buying a new script does not automatically require a different hardware arrangement. Check current requirements if the game, console, or controller is changing too; those changes are separate from choosing a file.
Keep the old setup identifiable
Before programming, record the old slot and settings you may want to return to. Use the official programming instructions, then confirm the new slot shows Rift’s startup screen. A filename on your computer is not enough to tell you which script the device is currently running.
